Here's what to look out for if you're traveling in the Baltimore metropolitan area this week, according to state and local highway agencies and the Mass Transit Administration.

New highway projects

* U.S. 1 northbound, Miller Road to Sheradale Drive: Right lane closed Mon.-Thu., 7 a.m.-3 p.m. and 7 p.m.-11 p.m.; Fri.-Sat., 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

Light-rail construction

* Park Avenue at Mulberry Street: effective tomorrow, for two weeks, Park Avenue will be to one lane because of construction on Mulberry.

* Dolphin Street between Howard Street and Mount Royal Avenue now one-way westbound. Traffic coming from south via Martin Luther King Boulevard destined for northbound Jones Falls Expressway continues east to Chase Street, east on Chase to Cathedral Street, then north at 1100 block of Cathedral to Mount Royal Avenue and expressway.

Bus route changes

The MTA has scheduled the following changes in routes for week. For more information, call 539-5000; TTY for the hearing-impaired, 539-3497.p,9.

No. 2 (morning express service)

Effective immediately, the morning express route is temporarily changed. Eastbound buses travel via regular route to Pratt Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, north on Martin Luther King, east on Baltimore Street, then via regular route. No change westbound.

No. 70 (downtown shuttle)

Effective tomorrow, the shuttle will use the upper level of southbound St. Paul Street instead of Guilford Avenue. Buses will operate from the Fallsway park 'n' ride lot on Hillen Street, south on Holliday Street, west on Saratoga Street, south on St. Paul Street (upper level), west on Lombard Street, then resume the regular route back to the park 'n' ride lot.

Light-rail construction

Construction of the Central Light Rail Line at the intersection of Lombard and Howard streets necessitates the following diversions:

No. 7 -- Westbound to Lombard and Charles streets, north on Charles, west on Fayette Street, north on Paca Street, then via regular route.

Nos. 10, 19, 27 -- Westbound to Lombard and Charles, north on Charles, west on Fayette, north on Eutaw Street, then via regular route.

No. 140 -- Westbound to Lombard and Charles, north on Charles, west on Fayette, south on Eutaw, west on Lombard, then via regular route.

Nos. 210, 220 -- Southbound to Lombard and Charles, north on Charles, west on Fayette, south on Greene Street to Lombard.

No. 23X (Oliver Beach -- a.m. service) -- Westbound via regular route northbound on I-395 to exit ramp to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, north on Martin Luther King, east on Saratoga Street to Eutaw, then via regular route. No change in eastbound evening service.

Nos. 120 (southbound), 160 (westbound), 320 (northbound) -- Northbound on I-395 to exit ramp to Martin Luther King, north on Martin Luther King, east on Baltimore Street to Eutaw, then via regular route.

Nos. 19A, 43 -- Southbound on St. Paul Street to Fayette, west on Fayette, north on Eutaw, then via regular route.

No. 19X (a.m. service) -- Southbound via regular route. Northbound on Calvert Street to Lombard, north on Calvert, west on Fayette, north on Eutaw, then via regular route. No change in northbound evening service.
