PARIS - One American import that is captivating the French fashion market is the models. Notwithstanding the legendary attractiveness of Frenchwomen on the boulevard, they don't seem to cut it on the runway. Only three percent of the models with the Elite-France agency are French.

Le Figaro published an article which suggested, American and Canadian women are taller than the French. French models are also less willing to work grueling hours, the article said; and they absolutely have to take a two-hour lunch.
