The topic of the Commercial Builders Council's March 26 meeting willbe "Conserve 2000: Opportunities in Cooling and Lighting of Commercial Buildings." The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at Snyder's Willow Grove (Beltway exit 8).

Bob Crosby, supervisor of industrial and commercial marketing for the west district of Baltimore Gas & Electric Co., will be the guest speaker.

Employers still have time to reserve a booth for the third annual Anne Arundel County Job Fair, set for March 27 at Anne Arundel Community College.

The event, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., is sponsored by the county Trade Council, the county Office of Economic Development and Anne Arundel Community College.

The fair will offer business and industry, government agencies and non-profit organizations a chanceto hire college seniors and graduates and other applicants. Last year, 1,700 job applicants attended the fair.

A reservation fee of $450 is required ($400 for Trade Council members), and electricity can be provided to booths for a $30 fee. For details of the fair's program and other information, contact the Anne Arundel Trade Council.

The Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau will conduct an open house from 5:30 to 7 p.m. March 27 at its new expanded offices, 1 Annapolis St. in Annapolis.

The non-profit organization invites anyone interested in membership or promoting the tourist and travel industry in the county to attend the event.

The West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a Business Connection from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 27, at Century 21 Provincial Realty Inc., 2622 Annapolis Road, Severn.

The West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will conduct "Small-Business Forum" from 5 to 6 p.m. March 28 at the Golden Flame Lounge, 1210 Annapolis Road, Odenton.

The forum is a regular informal monthly gathering of small-business owners who share problems and solutions. Simplified Employee Pension is the topic. Reservations are preferred.

The Annapolis-Anne Arundel chapter of the Public Relations Society of America will meet from noon to 1:30 p.m. March 28 at Harry Browne's Restaurant, 66 State Circle, Annapolis.

Linda Dove, manager of state government relations for the American Advertising Association, and Dennis Brown, executive director of the state advertising coalition, will provide an update on state taxes on public relations services.

"Perspectives on the Anne Arundel County Business Climate" will be the subject of the March 28 economic summit sponsored by the county Trade Council, Office of Economic Development, and Anne ArundelCommunity College at noon at the Pascal Center.

The summit is a response to the recently released Business Climate Survey conducted bythe three summit sponsors. County Executive Robert R. Neall will participate in the program.

There is a registration fee of $15 for the summit.

The new Loews Annapolis Hotel will present "Cook's Tour for Kids" at 2 p.m. every Saturday.

Children staying at the hotel will be given a tour of the meeting rooms, food and beverage facilities, kitchen and more to get a behind-the-scenes look at the workings of the hotel.

Anne Arundel County will offer free weatherization to eligible homes in the county to help save money and reduce the county's dependence on foreign oil.
