Jeffries has 300 in tournament Hollen in lead with 806 series

Mike Jeffries rolled a 300 game in the Greater Baltimore Bowling Association's 39th City Tournament last Sunday at Fair Lanes Kings Point in Randallstown.

Bruce Hollen rolled an 806 series and holds the all-events lead entering today's final round of competition.

* Two 300 games and two 299 games were rolled at Country CluLanes last week. Charlie Blake and Brian Bever had perfect games. Marty Connor missed the 10 pin on his final ball for a 299, and Oliver Collins missed the 7 pin with his final ball for a 299.

Blake, bowling in the Paxton Mixed League, also had games of 213 and 202 for a 715, and Bever, bowling in the Scratch Classic League, also had 254 and 244 for a 798 set.

* Ray Rich rolled a 290 game in the BIB League at Towson Fair Lanes. Rich spared in the first and then rolled 11 strikes in a row.

The Maryland State Bowling Association Tournament will be held Dual Lanes in Hagerstown May 4-5, May 11-12, May 19-20, May 27-28 and June 1-2. Entries close April 14.

The Young American Bowlers Alliance State Tournament will be held at Thunderhead Lanes in Westminster and in Taneytown May 4-5, May 11-12 and May 19-20.
