6 Chosen For State Level Of Geography Bee

Six county students have been selected to compete in the semifinal round of the state finals of the National Geography Bee, sponsored by National Geographic World magazine, Amtrack and Kudos snacks.

The state champion will compete in the national contest to take place in May in Washington, D.C.

County semifinalists are: Jeffery Cole from MacArthur Middle; Timothy Fegan From Central Middle; Rebecca Adamarczyk from Chesapeake Bay Middle; Ian Dowling from Annapolis Elementary; Stacey Krammer from St. Jane Frances School; and Stephen McClurkin from Old Mill Middle-South.

One hundred and one semifinalists were chosen from all over the state to compete in the finals that will take place on April 5 at Prince George's Community College.

Preliminary rounds will beginat 10 a.m. with 10 winners selected to go on to the final round for the state champion.
