Coach's outlook: "I think we've got a real good defense. We're looking for the offense to mesh and find the right combinations. On a good day we can go up and knock off any of (the top teams). Defensively, we may have the strongest team we've ever had. The midfield may be the strongest we've ever had. The attack has got to get its act together. We need them to progress a little better.I would hope we would do better than we did last year and improve onlast year's record."

Anne Arundel County Sun's outlook: If the attack comes around, Old Mill could emerge as a threat to the upper echelon. Lawton said his team "did a lot of tricks with mirrors" to win seven games last year, but it has the potential to surpass that totalthis spring. Plenty of talent returns, especially on defense. As he said, on a good day the Patriots could knock off anyone. It's just a question of how many good days he can squeeze out of this team. Most likely, more than he has in recent years.
