Coach's outlook: Last year, we started eight sophomores and a freshman. Now that they've gotten a year under their belts, we should be better. We play a tough schedule, so we might take our lumps a little bit early. But you don't get a whole lot from playing teams you beat up on. I wantedto play a tougher schedule. It will help us for this year and for next year.

Harford County Sun's outlook: That tough schedule includes a couple of powerful Pennsylvania teams, but Waibel knows the county league can be just as challenging. Without a JV, Waibel has been forced to put a lot of youngsters on the field over the years. This time, the inexperience at defense could be the problem. Three of the topfour defensemen played for the first time last year. To make up for it, they will have to score more goals. Waibel doesn't expect 15 goals a game, but he does expect Arthur and Brenneman to put up some goodnumbers. The one area where the Mariners do have experience is midfield. The first two units return intact, and Waibel has two more midfield units in the wings.
