Here's what to look out for if you're traveling in the Baltimore area this week, according to state and local highway agencies and the Mass Transit Administration. Projects include only newly announced work, not ongoing construction, which is currently extensive on several highways, including Interstate 95, U.S. 50/301 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Highway plans are subject to change because of weather or other factors.

New highway projects

* Eastbound Interstate 695 to northbound I-95: Until April 29, there will be a stop sign at entrance to northbound I-95 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Fast lane of I-95 will be closed.

* Miller Road to Sheradale Drive: Right lane closed Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m.-3 p.m. and 7 p.m.-11 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

Light-rail construction

* Centre Street at Eutaw Street and Franklin Street at Cathedral Street will remain closed until 5 a.m. tomorrow while light-rail contractors lay track on Howard Street. Traffic on Centre is diverted north on Eutaw, east on Monument Street and south on Cathedral back to Centre. Traffic on Franklin goes south on Cathedral to Liberty Street, west on Fayette Street, north on Paca Street and back to Franklin.

* Dolphin Street between Howard Street and Mount Royal Avenue now one-way westbound. Traffic coming from south via Martin Luther King Boulevard destined for northbound Jones Falls Expressway continues east to Chase Street, east on Chase to Cathedral Street, then north at 1100 block of Cathedral to Mount Royal and expressway.

Bus route changes

The MTA has scheduled several changes in bus routes for this week. For more information, call 539-5000; TTY for hearing-impaired, 539-3497.

Reisterstown parade

No. 7: A support-the-troops parade in Reisterstown from 12:30 to 2 p.m. today will divert northbound buses on Reisterstown Road west on Franklin Boulevard, north and east on Interstate 795, north on Hanover Pike, then via regular route. Southbound buses will travel to Hanover Pike and I-795, then west on I-795, south and west on Franklin Boulevard exit, south on Nicodemus Road, east on Franklin Boulevard, south on Reisterstown Road, then via regular route.

Foot race

The Baltimore Ladies Foot Race today will cause these diversions:

No. 3 (9-9:30 a.m.): Southbound, via regular route on Hopkins Place to Pratt Street, then east on Pratt, south on Light Street, west on Conway Street, north on Charles Street, then via regular route.

No. 8 (Inner Harbor), 61 and 62 (9-9:30 a.m.): Southbound, via regular route on Light to Conway, then west on Conway. Buses will layover between Light and Charles. Northbound, from temporary layover westbound on Conway between Light and Cross streets, then west on Conway, north on Charles, east on Pratt, north on Calvert, then via regular route.

No. 64 (8:15-9:20 a.m.): Northbound, via regular route on Light to Lee Street, then west on Lee, north on Charles, east on Pratt, north on Calvert, then via regular route.

Light-rail construction

Construction at the intersection of Lombard and Howard streets necessitates the following diversions until further notice:

No. 7: Westbound, via regular route to Lombard and Charles streets, then north on Charles, west on Fayette Street, north on Paca Street, then via regular route.

Nos. 10, 19 and 27: Westbound, via regular route to Lombard and Charles, then north on Charles, west on Fayette, north on Eutaw Street, then via regular route.

No. 140: Westbound, via regular route to Lombard and Charles, then north on Charles, west on Fayette, south on Eutaw, west on Lombard, then via regular route.

Nos. 210 and 220: Southbound, via regular route to Lombard and Charles, then north on Charles, west on Fayette, south on Greene Street to Lombard, then via regular route.

No. 23X (Oliver Beach-a.m. service): Westbound, via regular route northbound on Interstate 395 to exit ramp to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, then north on Martin Luther King, east on Saratoga Street to Eutaw, then via regular route. No change in eastbound evening service.

Nos. 120 (southbound), 160 (westbound) and 320 (northbound): Via regular route northbound on I-395 to exit ramp to Martin Luther King, then north on Martin Luther King, east on Baltimore Street to Eutaw, then via regular route.

Nos. 19A and 43: Southbound, via regular route on St. Paul Street to Fayette, then west on Fayette, north on Eutaw, then via regular route.

No. 19X (a.m. service): Southbound, via regular route northbound on Calvert Street to Lombard, then north on Calvert, west on Fayette, north on Eutaw, then via regular route. No change in northbound evening service.
