BASEBALL American League * Orioles -- Sent Mike Mussina (pitcher) to their minor-league camp for reassignment. Optioned Dave Martinez, Francisco de la Rosa and Mike Linskey (pitchers) to Rochester of the International League.

* Cleveland Indians -- Waived Alan Cockrell (outfielder).

* Detroit Tigers -- Sent Jose Ramos (pitcher) outright to London of the Eastern League. Sent Curt Ford (outfielder) to their minor-league camp for reassignment.

* New York Yankees -- Sent Steve Adkins and Darrin Chapin (pitchers) and Bernie Williams and Gerald Williams (outfielders) to Columbus of the International League. Sent Willie Smith (pitcher) to Albany of the Eastern League. Sent Brad Arsmus and Dave Sax (catchers), Mike Gadella (pitcher) Bobby DeJardin (infielder) and Van Snider (outfielder) to their minor-league camp for reassignment.

* Seattle Mariners -- Optioned Mike Gardiner, Brian Givens, Brent Knackert, Dave Richards and Clint Zavaras (pitchers) and Frank Bolick (infielder) to Calgary of the Pacific Coast League. Claimed Alan Cockrell (outfielder) off waivers and optioned him to Calgary. Sent Vance Lovelace and Jose Melendez (pitchers) and dTC Steve Springer (infielder) to their minor-league camp for reassignment.

National League * New York Mets -- Sent Kevin Baez (infielder) to their minor-league camp for reassigment.

HOCKEY (NHL) * League -- Suspended Kelly Chase, St. Louis Blues right wing, and Mike Peluso, Chicago Blackhawks left wing, for 10 games for leaving the bench to join a fight March 17. Suspended Scott Stevens, St. Louis defenseman, for two games; fined Mike Keenan, Chicago coach, $5,000 and Brian Sutter, St. Louis coach, $2,500, and each team $10,000. Fined Peluso, Dave Manson, Steve Larmer, Stu Grimson, Trent Yawney and Michel Goulet of Chicago and Chase, Stevens, Harold Snepsts, Glen Featherstone, Darrin Kimble and Rod Brind'Amour of St. Louis, $100, for fighting March 17.
