* OUTLOOK: A Skipjacks win tonight, coupled with a Utica loss at Binghamton, would clinch a playoff spot for Baltimore (36-32-6). The Nighthawks (23-41-9) have the worst record in the AHL and are winless (0-9-1) in their last 10 games. In their last meeting, March 10, goalie Jim Hrivnak posted the Jacks' only shutout win of the season, 1-0. Most of New Haven's top players have been assigned to Phoenix of the IHL for a playoff drive.

The Skipjacks hope to break a three-game losing streak before returning home for Fan Appreciation Night against Binghamton (39-28-6). Fans can meet the Skipjacks after the game. The Rangers, on a five-game win streak entering the weekend, already have clinched a playoff spot. The Skipjacks lead the season series 3-1, and this is a must game if they are to have any chance of catching Binghamton for second place.
