March 22, 1991

Head coach: Mary Hart (first season)

Assistant: Catherine Hart

1990 record: 13-2, lost to Severna Park in 4A-3A state finals

Returnees: Seniors, Devere Keen (att), Lisa Hartman (g), Krissy Borradaile (def) and Laura Gerrior (def); juniors, Becca Fink (att) and Michelle Meyer (def); sophomore, Karen Chesley (att)

Newcomers: Junior, Paige Bowman (g); sophomore, Megan McEwen (att)

Coach's outlook: "We'll be very team-oriented, which will help out. Last year, a lot of the girls depended on Betsy (Given), Chris (Hanna) and Roxanne (Elsey). But this year, it won't be just one person who will stand out. We have a good, athletic team. We'll have to be very defense-oriented and team-oriented. I think we have some surprises. We have some scorers. We're young. We just have to get our momentum going."

Anne Arundel County Sun's outlook: How does a team lose quality players like those mentioned above and not regress? Hart is hoping the likes ofKeen, Borradaile, Meyer and Fink have the answer. The quartet represents some of the top talent in the county. Hart says the goalie position is a big question mark, meaning more answers are forthcoming. Though the Bruins don't appear quite as strong as the last two years when they were state finalists, they still rank among the best 4A teams and will provide Severna Park with its stiffest challenge.
