GRIMALDIS WINS ART AWARD

Elizabeth W. Grimaldis, Anne Arundel County Public Schools' coordinator of art, was selected to receive the National Art Education Association's Award as the Eastern Supervision and Administration Art Educator of the Year for 1991.

The award is given to members with outstanding accomplishments and exemplary service throughout the UnitedStates and Canada.

Grimaldis has been with the Anne Arundel County Public Schools for 26 years, serving as an elementary and secondaryteacher and a resource teacher, and for the past 12 years as coordinator of art for the school system. She and her husband show works of national and international artists at two galleries in Baltimore.

$5,000 FOR NURSING GRANTS

Voiture No. 1230-40/8 -- an Arnold-based service organization of veterans of all wars -- recently donated $5,000to the Anne Arundel Community College Foundation for students studying nursing.

The awards, for students at Anne Arundel Community College, are based on grades and financial need.

Four nursing students at the college are receiving grants.

SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABLE

The Severna Park branch of the American Association of University Women is seeking applicants for a $1,500 transfer scholarship to be awarded for the 1991-1992 academic year. The scholarship will be awarded in May to an Anne Arundel County woman who completed her studies at Anne Arundel Community College in December 1990 or will complete them in May, and plans to transfer to an accredited institution as a junior.
