Royals made right move

It's your call

March 20, 1991

The Kansas City Royals were well within their rights to release hobbling Bo Jackson, said an overwhelming majority of respondents to "It's Your Call."

Faced with paying a $2.375 million contract, the Royals were wise to release Jackson, said 64 percent of the 474 people who responded to The Evening Sun's phone survey on topical issues. Only 169 (36 percent) said the Royals should have held on to the injured outfielder.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically, as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.
