Top newcomers: GIRLS -- Senior, Katrine Leschley; junior, Cindy Dieterly; sophomore, Laura Schoffner

Coaches' comments: BOYS -- "Being as inexperienced as we are, we don't expect to have as much success as last year. We have a large freshman class that might be the same kind of class that graduated together last year." GIRLS -- "We havea good nucleus with some good depth. We have five returning starters, two nice transfers and other experienced players returning."

TheCarroll County Sun's outlook: BOYS -- McCullin has his hands full trying to replace six of his top eight players from last year's team. He is just looking to improve as the year goes on and believes this year's freshman group may stack up with the class that graduated last year. A definite rebuilding year for the Owls, but watch out next year. GIRLS -- Shook is excited about the mix of returning players and newcomers he has entering the season. He is satisfied that his singles positions are secure but is a bit concerned with the development of his doubles teams. If the doubles comes around, the Owls could well bethe only county team to give South Carroll a run for their money.
