Man, 31, Charged With High's Robbery

A 31-year-old Glen Burnie man is being held without bond on armed robbery charges in connection with a convenience store holdup last week.

John Stewart, of the 7600 block Spencer Road, is in custody at the county detention center. He is charged with the gunpoint robbery of the High's store in the 7900 block of Crain Highway at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said that after the clerk handed over the cash, the banditran behind the store toward a Glen Mar Road apartment complex.

Police later found the gun in a stairwell of an apartment building in the 400 block of Glen Mar Road. Stewart, who was staying in an apartment on Glen Mar Road, was arrested by detectives.

FOUR-STORY PLUNGE KILLS DIABETIC, 50

A Glen Burnie man with a with a history of diabetes died Monday after he became dizzy and fell from an open fourth-floor apartment window.

Kyu Nam Yoon, 50, of the 8000 block of Winding Wood Way, died at University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Police said Yoon was standing at the window Sunday. As he fell, he struck a wooden canopy over the entrance to the apartment and then hit the ground. Investigators said Yoon had been taking medication.

GUNMAN TAKES CASH AND CIGARETTES

A man brandishing an automatic gun and wearing a ski mask robbed a Glen Burnie 7-Eleven store of$36 and several cartons of cigarettes early Friday, police reported.

Police described the gunman who robbed the store in the 400 blockof Old Mill Road as white, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, wearing a maroon ski mask, tan jacket, blue jeans and brown leather gloves.
