Baltimore City

SHOOTING: Eastern District -- Police reported that a 26-year-old man was shot after he was stopped by a man in the 1200 block of N. Bond St. who asked him for a "joint." Police said Tom Greene, of the 200 block of N. Colvin St., was walking shortly after 6 p.m. yesterday when he was stopped by a man who asked for a "joint," a slang word for a marijuana cigarette. Greene told police the men then pulled out a handgun and pointed it at him. Greene told police he said to the gunman, "I don't have a joint, so I guess you'll have to shoot me." Police said that as Greene was walking away he was shot in the buttocks. Police said the gunmen fled and that Greene was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where, according to the patient information office, he was treated for a bullet wound and released.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that a deliveryman for Pizz-A-Boli's in the 1700 block of E. Northern Parkway was making a food delivery in the 1300 block of E. Belvedere Ave. late Sunday night when he was accosted by a man in his mid-20s who held a hard object to the side of his head and robbed him of a ring he was wearing and his cash. Police said the amount of cash taken and the value of the ring was not immediately known.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 4000 block of Ardley Ave. reported that someone broke into his home over the weekend and removed a .22-caliber revolver valued at more than $100. Police said entry was gained by breaking out a pane of glass in a door.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Dennis Davidson, of the 2900 block of Glenmore Ave., reported that someone broke into his car that was parked near his home and removed a compact disc player and nearly a dozen compact discs. Police said the property was valued at more than $500.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that property valued at more than $700 was removed from a dwelling in the 1400 block of Kitmore Road after someone gained entry by opening a side basement window. Police said the intruder made off with a VCR, a 35mm camera and other items.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1200 block of Ramblewood Road reported someone gained entry into his home by removing a pane of glass from a basement door and removed four coats, four dresses, $60, a VCR, a .32-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver and a TV. Police said the property was valued at nearly $1,300.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Joanne Bailey, of the 1800 block of Ramblewood Road, reported that someone broke into her car that was parked near her home and removed an AM-FM radio from the --board. Police said the radio was valued at $500.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Edward Williams, of the 2000 block of Odell Ave., reported he was in the 1900 block of 62nd St. at the Hollander Ridge public housing complex when he was accosted by three men, one armed with a handgun, who ordered him to give up his money. Police said Williams gave the gunman and his accomplices a ring, $200 in cash and $90 worth of food stamps.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that an elderly female resident of the 2600 block of Aisquith St. was home yesterday when a man and woman knocked on the front door and told her they had a package to deliver. Police said when the occupant opened the door, the couple forced their way inside the house. While in the house, the couple tied the woman up and robbed her of property valued at more than $500. Police said the woman managed to free herself before calling for help and reporting the robbery.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Ronald Johnson, of the 5800 block of Jonquil Ave., reported he was in the 5500 block of Kennison Ave. shortly after 9 a.m. yesterday when he was stopped by a man armed with a handgun who demanded he give up his money. Police said Johnson complied and that the gunman fled with nearly $200.

ASSAULT: Northwestern District -- Donnell Gooden, of the 2300 block of Elsinore Ave., reported that during an argument at his home Sunday night with a woman he knows he was cut on the wrist with a knife. Police said Gooden was slightly injured and that the woman was being sought in connection with the assault.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Members of the Rising Sun Baptist Church in the 4900 block of Liberty Heights Ave. reported that someone broke into the building over the weekend by breaking a rear window and removed an electronic keyboard. Police said the value of the keyboard was not immediately known.

ARSON: Northwestern District -- Police today were seeking the person who entered a dwelling in the 5200 block of Denmore Ave. around 7 p.m. yesterday and set fire to a sofa and a mattress in rooms on the first floor. Police said the fire caused at least $20,000 damage to the dwelling and that no injuries were reported.
