Open House for Realtors

March 18, 1991|By Mary Ellen Daughtery

The straightens skate board

a decade old, Lincoln logs

and drum, mementoes of her son,

dusts dancers on the wall,

ballerina to ballerina,

Kirov in ink and gold.

From the sun porch grand giraffes

of mottled brass keep watch

while in the yard paper tiger lilies rage

like reckless queens at the open gate.
