Cockpit in Court to present 'Godspell'to finance trip to Soviet Union

Cockpit in Court will present a benefit performance of the musical "Godspell" at 8 p.m. tomorrow in the theater at Essex Community College. Proceeds will help finance the company's trip to Odessa in the Soviet Union, where the production will be presented later this month as the second half of an exchange that began last summer with a visit from the Odessa Studio Theatre.

Tickets to the benefit are $10 and include a post-performance reception. For more information call 522-1269. The King's Singers, whose more than 50 recordings run the gamut from Renaissance madrigals to pop, will perform tonight at 8 at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The ensemble has appeared frequently on public television in the United States and Great Britain as well as on the "Tonight" show.

The performance will benefit the Baltimore Choral Arts Society, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary season. Tickets range from $10 to $30. For more information, call 523-7070. Pro Musica Rara will present its "potpourri with winds and strings" today at 3:30 p.m. at Lovely Lane Methodist Church, St. Paul and 22nd streets. Harpsichordist Amy Rosser will join the chamber music ensemble in a program featuring works by contemporaries of J. S. Bach: Telemann, Scarlatti and J. A. Hasse.
