By invitation of Kuwaiti officials, Gov. William Donald Schaefer is accompanying the emir of Kuwait on his return to Kuwait City today. Some Maryland lawmakers say Schaefer should tend to business at home.
Of 650 Evening Sun readers and other callers to SUNDIAL yesterday, 227, or 34 percent, said that Schaefer should have gone to Kuwait, and 65 percent, or 423 said he should have stayed in Maryland. Of 649 callers, 255, or 39 percent, said Schaefer's visit will help Marylanders win business, and 60 percent, or 394 said that it would not help.
