ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police yesterday arrested a man who reportedly attacked a woman inside a food store on Bowleys Lane, and broke the window of another woman's car parked outside in an attempt to steal her purse. Police said Lolita Perry, of the 4300 block of Brehms Lane, was about to enter Hobbitt's, a food market in the 4500 block of Bowleys Lane, about 6 p.m. when she was attacked for no apparent reason by a man who attempted to strike her. Police said while Perry was in the store, the same man attacked her again by spraying her in the face with a chemical irritant used for self protection. Police said the man then ran onto the parking lot after removing a snow shovel from a display. On the lot, the man broke the window of a car and was attempting to reach inside and steal a woman's purse when he was arrested by police. Police said John Lee Graves, 28, of the 5400 block of Raintree Way, was charged with assault, shoplifting and malicious destruction of property. Police said Graves was held overnight at the Eastern District lockup pending a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

SHOOTING: Northeastern District -- Police arrested two men yesterday in connection with the shooting of a teen-ager during an incident in the 1600 block of Veney Court in the Hollander Ridge public housing complex. Police said Elton Foreman, 17, of the 4400 block of Plainfield Ave., was in Veney Court shortly after 8 p.m. yesterday when he was attacked by two men, one armed with a handgun. Police said the gunman fired at least two shots at Foreman, hitting him in the arm and buttocks. Police said Foreman was taken to Francis Scott Key Medical Center, where he was listed today in good condition. Arrested and charged with assault with intent to murder and using a handgun in the commission of a felony were Darrell Redmond, 22, of the 400 block of Lakeview Ave., and Victory Curry, 24, of the 1700 block of Jack Fisher Court in Hollander Ridge. Police said the gun used in the shooting was not recovered.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 2700 block of Fenwick Ave. reported that someone broke into his apartment through a basement door and removed a 25-inch TV. Police said the break-in occurred between Tuesday and yesterday and that the property was valued at $300.

ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police yesterday entered McCroy's department store in the 5400 block of Harford Road and arrested a youth who attempted to leave the store without paying for food items. Police said the youth was charged as a juvenile with theft and later released in the custody of his parents. Police said the youth was stopped by a store security officer who detained him prior to the arrival of district police.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that property was removed from a dwelling in the 6900 block of Harford Road after someone gained entry by opening a second-floor window. Police said cash and other items were taken.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Employees of the Bi-Rite food market in the 6800 block of Harford Road reported that a man in his late 20s or early 30s ran out of the store yesterday afternoon after removing several boxes of frozen shrimp from a freezer. Police said the shrimp was valued at $100.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 3200 block of Ramona Ave. told police that someone gained entry into his apartment with a key and removed a clothes dryer. Police said the appliance was valued at $300.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Frank Monaldi, of the 4100 block of White Ave., reported that someone broke into his parked car in the 3700 block of Sinclair Lane yesterday and removed two stereo speakers and a stereo booster. Police said the property was valued at nearly $200. Police said there were no signs of forced entry.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that property valued at nearly $1,300 was removed from a dwelling in the 3600 block of Lyndale Ave. after someone gained entry by breaking a pane of glass out of a rear door. Police said the intruder made off with a VCR, compact disc player and jewelry.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Police responding to a shoplifting at Ames department store in the 2500 block of Belair Road yesterday arrested a 36-year-old man who attempted to leave the store without paying for several pieces of women's clothing. Police said the man was being held at the Eastern District pending theft charges.

ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Molly Golden, of the 4500 block of Harcourt Road, reported that during an argument with a man at her home yesterday she was cut on the right hand with a knife. Police said the man escaped and that Golden was treated for a laceration and released.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1300 block of E. Belvedere Ave. reported that someone broke into his apartment and removed a short-wave radio from the bedroom. The victim told police the radio was valued at more than $200.
