Opening Day At Columbia

March 13, 1991

Sykesville's Matthew Lane and Mount Airy's Clinton Furr each came away winners in their respective classes on the opening day for BicycleMotocross (BMX) races at Columbia BMX Super Track March 3.

Lane captured the 9 Expert Class while Furr won the 8 Expert Class.

In the 6 Intermediate Class, Sykesville's Michael Lane finished third and Charlie Furr placed fifth.

Mount Airy's Nick Main finished second in the 9 Intermediate Class, George O'Brien of Mount Airy placed third in the 10 Novice Class, and Rick O'Berry finished fifth inthe 11 Intermediate Class.

In the 13 Novice Class, Donnie Penn and Patrick Herrington, both of Mount Airy, finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Hampstead's Jimmy Phelps finished fourth in the 16 Expert Class, and Woodbine's Billy Allen took third in the 17-20 Cruiser Class.
