SHOOTING: Western District -- Anthony Bennett, of the 800 block of Lennox St., reported he was walking in the 2200 block of Pennsylvania Ave. early Sunday when a man stopped him, began arguing with him, pulled out a handgun and shot Bennett in the stomach, arm and leg. Bennett was listed in critical condition today at Maryland General Hospital.

ROBBERY: Southern District -- Thelma Courthouse, of the 700 block of Reedbird St. in Cherry Hill, reported she was walking in the 2700 block of Spelman Road yesterday afternoon when a man with a revolver robbed her of an undetermined amount of money.

ROBBERY: Southern District -- Ruth Letchin, of the 1700 block of W. Pratt St., told police she was walking in the 1800 block of W. Pratt St. early yesterday afternoon when a man ran up from behind and stole her purse.

THEFT: Southern District -- Employees of Fulton Auto Sales in the 1800 block of W. Pratt St. reported that someone entered company property over the weekend and stole equipment valued at $600 from a 1979 Cadillac.

ASSAULT: Southern District -- Shawn Rawlings, of the 2700 block of Spelman Road, reported he was in the 2800 block of Spelman Road shortly after 9 o'clock last night when a man fired several shots at him with a handgun, but the bullets missed. Later, police arrested Antonio Davis, 27, of the 700 block of Reedbird St., and charged him with assault with intent to murder and using a handgun in the commission of a felony. Davis was ordered held on $5,000 bail and was scheduled for a bail review hearing today in District Court.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police today are seeking a man and his female companion who robbed the Food Rite market in the Northwood Shopping Center in the 1500 block of Havenwood Road about 8 o'clock last night. The man handed a lottery machine clerk a note saying, "Give me money. If you holler I'll shoot," and she handed him about $400. Several customers were in the store, but most were unaware of the robbery.

ASSAULT: Central District -- Police arrested a 75-year-old man after he allegedly attacked a woman in the 1800 block of Pennsylvania Ave. yesterday and hit her in the head with a shovel. Martha Thompson, 31, of the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Ave., was treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center for a 4-inch gash. Charged with aggravated assault was Benjamin Brookins, 75, of the 1800 block of Pennsylvania Ave.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police were seeking two females who robbed a clerk at the High's dairy store in the 3200 block of Belair Road of several cartons of cigarettes worth $70 after threatening the clerk with a long-bladed knife about 7 o'clock last night.

BURGLARY: Central District -- A resident of the 2300 block of Linden Ave. reported that someone forced open a rear door at her home and stole several pieces of property of unknown value.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Police reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 2600 block of Maryland Ave. through an unlocked window and stole more than $100.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A Royal cab driver reported he was seated in his parked cab in the first block of W. Pratt St. early yesterday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of an undisclosed amount of money.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Stereo receiving and recording equipment of unknown value was stolen from a dwelling in the 700 block of St. Paul St. after someone forced open a door.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Latonya Johnson, of the 2400 block of Edmondson Ave., reported that two men robbed her of $900 worth of jewelry after they accosted her in the 800 block of Linden Ave. last weekend.

BREAK-IN: Central District -- Employees of the Stock Exchange in the first block of S. Charles St. reported that someone broke into the business over the weekend and stole a piggy bank containing $75 in coins and stole $75 from a cash register.

ROBBERY: Central District -- John McClung, of the 1300 block of St. Paul St., reported he was in the 300 block of St. Paul St. early yesterday when a man attacked him, pushed him to the pavement and robbed him of a leather carrying bag containing cash and other pieces of property, all valued at $70.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Theresa Wharton, of the 1600 block of N. Smallwood St., was walking in the 100 block of E. North Ave. when she was approached from behind by a man who stole her purse containing two money orders valued at more than $400.

THEFT: Central District -- Employees of the American Urological Association in the 1100 block of N. Charles St. reported that someone entered the office yesterday and stole more than $100 from an unlocked metal box.

THEFT: Central District -- Azetta Johnson, of the 1200 block of Druid Hill Ave., reported that someone entered her apartment over the weekend and stole an $800 television set and a set of gold earrings valued at $200.
