Two Youths Attacked By Gang Of Teens

A group of seven to 10 teen-agers attacked two Glen Burnie High School students Wednesday night with boards and pipes, sending one 18-year-old to the hospital.

Michael John Sauter, of the 300 block Nursery Road, Linthicum, suffered bruises on his back and head cuts that required stitches.

His companion, Sam William Helmick, 18, of the 700 block Church Street, Brooklyn, was hit on the back of his head with a board but didnot require treatment.

Police say the two men had just gotten outof night class at the high school and were standing outside the administration building when the youths came up to them. They gathered around both men and attacked. A police report says there was no apparent motive.

Several witnesses standing nearby were not attacked. Police say the youths stole Helmick's Los Angeles Kings jacket during the altercation.

Brooklyn:

1200 block Kenwood Road, March 7; entry gained through window. Nothing taken. Suspects arrested.

100 block North Blades Lane, March 7; entry gained throughfront window. Computer taken. Total loss: $3,000.

Linthicum:

300 block East Maple Road, March 6; entry gained through basement backdoor. Jewelry, money taken. Total loss: $3,167.
