Fenwick gets first riding triple

LAUREL -- Apprentice Charlie Fenwick III registered the first riding triple of his career when winning with three of five mounts at Laurel Race Course yesterday.

Fenwick, 17, is a student at Gilman. He is the son of Charlie Fenwick Jr., five-time winning rider of the Maryland Hunt Cup.

Fenwick scored aboard Mom's Ruler in the second, Sawmill Run in the third and No Dubbs in the sixth.

Ameri Run led gate-to-wire to win the $19,000 feature for 3-year-olds.
