ASSAULT: Northwestern District -- Herbert McLeod was in stable condition at Sinai Hospital today, where he was being treated for multiple stab wounds suffered in an attack early yesterday, police said. McLeod, who lives in the 4900 block of Palmer Ave., was stabbed during a quarrel with a man in the 5000 block of Park Heights Ave. just before 1 a.m. Police said McLeod apparently does not know the man who attacked him.

ASSAULT: Northwestern District -- Mary Grooms, who lives in the 4800 block of Palmer Ave., was attacked in her home early yesterday by someone she knows, police said. Grooms was hit in the face and several teeth were knocked out during the attack, police said.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Alum Perry, of the 2000 block of E. North Ave., told police he was walking in the 3000 block of W. Garrison Blvd. just before 1 a.m. yesterday when he was approached by a man who grabbed him, knocked him down and took $86 from him.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Police were called to Malcolm X Elementary School, 2810 Shirley Ave., after it was discovered that someone had broken a window and entered the school. However, it had not been determined whether any property is missing.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A 43-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint in the 4400 block of Craddock Ave., police said. James Wilkins, who lives in the 1200 block of Rossiter Ave., told police he was accosted by three teen-agers who threatened him with a small handgun and took $25 from him late Tuesday.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A 27-year-old woman was robbed of her purse while driving in the 5600 block of The Alameda. According to police, Rebecca Marr, 27, was in her car when a man opened the door, grabbed the purse and punched her in the face. Marr was not seriously hurt in the attack. The value of her purse and its contents was estimated at $105.

ARSONARSON: Northern District -- C&T Management Inc. reported to police that two fires were set in a vacant apartment the company manages at 2758 Virginia Ave. The fires, which were discovered about 8:45 p.m. yesterday, caused about $3,000 in damage to the apartment.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- The 7-Eleven store at Keswick Road and 33rd Street was robbed last night by two men. According to police, the men, armed with a handgun, entered the store at 401 E. 33rd St. about 10 p.m. and demanded money from the cash register and the customers. Hal Chung, 38, a store employee, gave the robbers about $170; Michael Decker, 40, who lives in the 3200 block of Abell Ave., was robbed of $80; and Tom Barron, 28, who lives in the 3600 block of Elkader Road, gave up $20. It was not known whether the men escaped on foot or used a vehicle.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Keith Carr, who lives in the 4000 block of Maine Ave., was robbed by two men in the 1800 block of Clifton Ave. about 1:30 a.m. yesterday, police said. According to police, Carr was approached by two teen-agers who pointed a handgun at him and demanded his money. He gave them $30.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A woman who lives in the 2700 block of Lafayette Ave. told police that her house was burglarized by someone she knows. A rear window was broken at the house and several items, including a videocassette recorder, earphones, a watch and a credit card, were taken. Total value of the stolen items was placed at almost $550.

PURSE SNATCH: Western District -- Judy Murray, of the 1300 block of N. Carey St., told police she was in the 1200 block of Presstman St. when her purse was grabbed by a man. Murray was carrying $396.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone knocked a hole in the third-floor wall at Han's Food Market, 946 W. Baltimore St., and made off with some meat.

ASSAULT: Southwestern District -- Sharon Crosby, who lives in the 4900 block of Parkton St., told police she was quarreling with someone in her apartment and the person took a shot at her. Crosby was not injured in the Tuesday incident, police said.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Lois Devera, who lives in the 3300 block of S. Smallwood St., was on her way home from the grocery store about 9 a.m. yesterday when she was approached by a man who punched her in the head, knocked her to the ground and took her groceries and wallet. Total loss in the theft was placed at $374.

PURSE SNATCH: Southwestern District -- Sharon Johnson was near her home in the 100 block of S. Monastery Ave. when a man ran up behind her and grabbed her purse, which contained $150.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Anna Stewart, address unavailable, was knocked to the ground in the 300 block of S. Pulaski St. and robbed of her purse, which contained $431.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone broke into the laundry room at the Nottingham Apartments, in the 700 block of TC Nottingham Road, and stole the coins from the coin-operated washers and dryers.
