Philadelphia coach Paul Holmgren was docked $1,000 for public display of temper and Washington D Mikhail Tatarinov had his automatic fine of $100 for gross-misconduct penalty increased to $500. Washington C Dale Hunter is serving 4-game suspension stemming from incident during game.

Buffalo Sabres -- Traded C Ken Priestlay to Pittsburgh Penguins for RW Tony Tanti. Purchased G Steve Weeks from Vancouver Canucks.

Calgary Flames -- Traded RW Mark Hunter to Hartford Whalers for C Carey Wilson. Traded C Marc Bureau to Minnesota North Stars for third-round pick in 1991 draft.
