* OUTLOOK: Surprisingly, 1,600 tickets remained today to see the Kings and Wayne Gretzky, who as usual leads the NHL in scoring with 37 goals and 96 assists. The Caps (29-32-5) trail New Jersey by four points for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Patrick Division. The Kings (39-20-7) are trying to seal first place in the Smythe. Right wing John Kordic has been suspended for the remainder of the season for alcohol abuse. Jeff Greenlaw has been recalled from the Skipjacks to replace Kordic. Jim Hrivnak and Tim Bergland also remain with the team. Dale Hunter (suspension) and Reggie Savage (groin) are out. Don Beaupre (groin), Peter Bondra (shoulder) and Dimitri Khristich (hip) are day-to-day.
