Brandt, Parsons win Aberdeen race

Jeffrey Brandt, 35, of Danville, Pa., and Heather Parsons, 35, of York, Pa., won their divisions of the 14th Last Train to Boston Marathon Saturday at Aberdeen Proving Ground.

Brandt completed the four loops around the Edgewood area of the compound in 2 hours, 42 minutes, 51 seconds. Parsons finished in 3:17:14, almost 20 minutes ahead of second-place finisher Melissa Brandt, the wife of the male winner.

There were 150 starters and 100 finishers. The top runners:

He's back: Harry Goodman, the Baltimore Road Runners Club's Runner of the Decade for the 1980s who doesn't do much competitive road racing these days, won the club's Early Spring 4-miler at Goucher College Sunday. Goodman finished in 20:20, and Carol Zimmerman, the female winner, came in at 25:41. There were 93 finishers . . . John Doub, 33, of Chambersburg, Pa., and Donna Henshaw, 36, of San Francisco, won their divisions of the Myers Pavilion 8K in Brooklyn Sunday. Doub ran 24:58 and Henshaw 30:11.
