Dr. Gordon Wheat Chiropractor

Services for Dr. Gordon A. Wheat, a chiropractor on the Eastern Shore for more than 30 years, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Moore Funeral Home in Denton.

Dr. Wheat, who was 71 and lived in Denton, died yesterday of pneumonia at the Memorial Hospital in Easton.

He began practicing in 1952 in Sharptown and moved to Denton in 1955, practicing there until his retirement in 1986, the last several years with his son, Dr. Gordon F. Wheat. Born in Granite and a 1952 graduate of the Columbia College of Chiropractic in Baltimore, he served in the Army Air Forces in the Pacific during World War II.

In addition to his son, of Denton, his survivors include a daughter, Nancy W. Brinsfield of Leonardtown; two brothers, Mervin and Nevin Wheat, both of Baltimore; and three grandchildren.
