CURRENT volunteers' news and needs:

Hampton National Historical Site needs volunteers for its May 5 Hampton Heritage Festival being held 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hampton mansion. For volunteer details, call Bill Curtis, 962-0688.

Visiting Nurse Association Hospice Inc. wants volunteers in the Howard County area to assist with patient care. Call Denise Wheatley Rowe, 332-0880.

The Maryland Center for Independent Living wants volunteers to help organize and put on its annual Wheelchair-A-Thon being held June 3 at Lake Montebello in order to raise funds for independent living services for severely disabled adults. Call 377-5900.

HERO, Health Education Resource Organization, wants volunteers to work with staff to counsel callers on the Maryland State AIDS Hotline, to be in the Buddy Program, to help with the newsletter, work in the offices and other tasks. Call Joyce Kramer, 685-1180.

Stella Maris, a division of Cardinal Shehan Center, wants volunteers to assist the elderly for a few hours each week in programs and activities, nursing, rehabilitative services and personnel. Call Debby Mills, 252-4500, Ext. 254.

Pets on Wheels observation class for volunteers with their pets who will visit nursing homes is at 7 p.m. March 12 at the S.P.C.A. at 3300 Falls Road. 396-1762.
