Services for William L. McFarlane, a semiretired insurance agent, will be held at 11:30 a.m. today at the Loring Byers funeral establishment, 8728 Liberty Road, Randallstown.

Mr. McFarlane, who was 66, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital after a blood vessel ruptured.

He had owned and operated an insurance agency under his name for about 30 years.

Born in Baltimore, he was a graduate of the Polytechnic Institute and the Johns Hopkins University.

He served in the Navy in the Pacific during World War II.

He was a member of the Milford Mill United Methodist Church and the Pikesville-Randallstown Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, the former Janet Houck; two sons, W. Bruce McFarlane of Bel Air and Brian S. McFarlane of Ellicott City; a daughter, Carole Garber of Sykesville; and five grandchildren.

The family suggested memorial contributions to the Milford Mill United Methodist Church.
