Capitals preview

March 01, 1991|By Nestor Aparicio

* WHEN: Tomorrow, 7:35.

* WHERE: Capital Centre.

* OUTLOOK: The Caps are winless in their last three this week, all against Patrick Division teams. It appears they get a break tomorrow against the last-place Islanders (21-36-9), who were manhandled 5-0 last night in Boston. Mike Liut played reasonably well in goal in Manhattan Wednesday night in a 4-4 tie. Jim Hrivnak hasn't fared so well since his recall from the Jacks, allowing five goals Sunday against Pittsburgh and four in getting pulled Monday during the second period in New Jersey. The Caps, who trail New Jersey by four points for the final playoff spot, host Wayne Gretzky and the Los Angeles Kings Tuesday night.
