San Diego Padres -- Agreed to 1-year contracts with OF-1B Jerald Clark (.267 in 101 at-bats), IF Joey Cora (.270 in 100 at-bats), C Tom Lampkin (.222 in 63 at-bats) and P Frank Seminara.

Seattle Mariners -- Signed IF Dave Cochrane (.150 in 20 at-bats) to 1-year contract.

Boston Bruins -- Announced retirement of D Michael Thelven, 30, who played in just 27 of 217 games since Dec. 26, 1988, because of tendinitis and inflammation under his right kneecap.

San Diego Sockers -- Signed D Tommy Loeber as developmental player.
