John G. Voelker Engineering manager

A Mass of Christian burial for John G. Voelker, a retire engineering manager for Crown Cork & Seal Co. Inc., will be offered at 10 a.m. today at the Roman Catholic Church of the Nativity, 1809 Vista Lane, Timonium.

Mr. Voelker, who was 73, died Saturday in his sleep at his home on Eastham Road in Timonium.

He retired about 10 years ago after 40 years with Crown Cork & Seal, but he continued to work as a consultant to the company.

Born in Baltimore, he was a graduate of the Polytechnic Institute and studied engineering at the Johns Hopkins University.

He was an officer in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

Mr. Voelker was a member of the Men's Club at the Church of the Nativity.

His wife, the former Patricia Anne Boyle, died in 1989.

He is survived by three daughters, J. Christine Voelker of Bel Air, Constance Schomann of Severna Park and Anne Maria Duffy of Ellicott City; two sons, John G. Voelker Jr. of Forest Hill and Michael V. Voelker of Sherburne, N.Y.; two sisters, Dorothy Rooney of Towson and Rose Donegan of Catonsville; and five grandchildren.
