Cleveland Indians -- Agreed to terms with C Sandy Alomar Jr. (.290, 9 HRs, 66 RBI in 132 games) and IF Jeff Manto (.224, 2 HR, 14 RBI in 30 games) on one-year contracts. Alomar received $345,000.

San Diego Padres -- Agreed to two-year contract extension through 1993 with Yuma, Ariz., their spring training site.

Texas Rangers -- Named Marc Sullivan advance scout and Larry Himes scouting consultant.


Golden State Warriors -- Placed F Tom Tolbert on injured list. Activated C Les Jepsen.


Syracuse -- Named Kevin Rogers assistant football coach.

West Virginia -- Named Dan Simrell quarterbacks and receivers coach.


Phoenix Cardinals -- Agreed to terms with LB Tyronne Stowe.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- Named Morris Watts, Michigan State's offensive coordinator the past five years, quarterbacks coach.

Toronto Argonauts (CFL) -- Announced that the team has been purchased by Los Angeles Kings owner Bruce McNall, Kings center Wayne Gretzky and comedian John Candy.


Buffalo Sabres -- Reassigned D Greg Brown to Rochester (AHL).
