Information Sought On Robbery Suspect

ABERDEEN — Harford Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of a suspect wanted for an armed robbery Tuesday at U.S. Books, an adult bookstore in Edgewood.

State police gave this account of the incident: a man wearing a yellow ski mask entered the store at 3011 Pulaski Highway at about 6:30 a.m.

The man pulled out a shotgun and threatened a clerk. He then tookan undetermined amount of cash and then fled on foot.

The suspectis described as a black man, having a thin build and about 6 feet tall. He was wearing green coveralls and suede work gloves.

Anyone with information on the suspect can call the Crime Solvers hot line at877-STOP. Callers do not have to give their name or appear in court.

DARE PICKS UP $1,000 FOR ANTI-DRUG CAMPAIGN

The county Joint Narcotics Task Force has given the county's Drug Abuse Resistance Education team a $1,000 check to help pay for its program.

DARE teachessixth-grade students how to say no to drug use and informs them about the dangers of drugs.

The program, coordinated by the state police, is taught by deputies from the county Sheriff's Department and officers from the Aberdeen, Bel Air and Havre de Grace police departments.

The money from the task force will be used to buy bumper stickers, bookmarks, erasers, pencils, banners and certificates of completion. The items are given to students who take part in DARE.

The task force consists of the state police, the State's Attorney's Office,the Sheriff's Department and the three municipal police departments.

HAVRE DE GRACE MAN DIES IN 2-CAR CRASH

Robert B. Graves, 29, ofHavre de Grace, was killed Monday morning in a two-car accident nearPort Deposit, Cecil County, state police at North East said.

Graves was a passenger in a 1981 Toyota driven by Charles B. Marcum, 23, of Havre de Grace, police said.

Graves was traveling north on Doctor Jack Road when Marcum lost control of his car on a curve, began tospin and struck a car driven by Stephanie C. Amos, 35, of Baltimore,police said.

1700 block of Fountain Rock Way: A 1984 Honda motorcycle worth $800 was stolen from a garage Feb. 16, the Sheriff's Department said.

2000 block of Cherry Road: Cash was stolen and a window and screen were damaged during a burglary at a house Feb. 9, the Sheriff's Departmentsaid. Loss totaled $500.

600 block of Dogwood Avenue: A 1979 Yamaha motorcycle worth $500 was stolen Feb. 16, the Sheriff's Departmentsaid.

3000 block of Sounding Drive: A $400 bicycle was stolen from a house Feb. 7, the Sheriff's Department said.

Unit block of East Jarrettsville Road: 12 rolls of copper wirewere stolen from a storage shed at Benfield Electric Co. Feb. 14, the Sheriff's Department said. A window, door and fence were damaged. Loss totaled $830.
