S. Carroll Graduate At Fort Jackson

Pvt. Garry W. O'Dell, brother of Caryn O'Dell of Woodbine, has completed basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C.

During the training, he received instruction in drill, weapons, maps, tactics and first aid.

The private is a 1985 graduate of South Carroll High School.

JONES COMPLETES INFANTRY COURSE

Pvt. Ryan S. Jones, son of Howard and Virginia Jones of Sykesville, has completed training at the U.S. Infantry School, Fort Benning, Ga.

Jones received training that qualified him as a light-weapons infantrymen and as an indirect-fire crewman in a rifle or mortar squad.

His instruction also included weapons qualifications, tactics, patrolling, land mine warfare, filed andcombat operations.

INVENTORY MANAGER TRAINING FOR HINSON

AirmanFelicia C. Hinson, daughter of Cassandra and Ralph Page of Columbia,has completed the inventory management specialist course at Lowry Air Force Base, Denver, Colo.

Students were taught property accounting, customer support, stock control and equipment management for a base supply system.

The airman is a 1990 graduate of Paint Branch High School, Burtonsville.

COLUMBIA SEAMAN IN 8-WEEK COURSE

Navy Seaman Recruit Daniel P. Roach, son of Francis Roach of Columbia, has completed recruit training at Great Lakes, Ill.

During his eight-week training term, Roach studied general military subjects designed to prepare him for further academic and on-the-job instruction in one of the Navy's 85 basic fields.

He joined the Navy in October 1990.

HILL GRADUATES FROM PARRIS ISLAND

Marine Pvt. William Hill, sonof Bonni Hill of Mount Airy, has completed his basic training at Marine Corps Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

Hill participated in an active physical conditioning program and gained proficiency in a variety of military skills, including first aid,rifle marksmanship and close order drill.

He is a 1990 graduate of South Carroll High School.

ELDERSBURG RECRUIT FINISHES FLA. TRAINING

Navy Seaman Recruit Christopher F. Reiter, son of Karl and Maryjean Reiter of Eldersburg, hascompleted recruit training in Orlando, Fla.

Reiter's studies included seamanship, close order drill, Naval history and first aid.

A1987 graduate of Liberty High School, he joined the Navy in August 1990.
