Luelle P. Evitt Former teacher

February 24, 1991

Services for Luelle Price Evitt, a former schoolteacher, will be held at 11 a.m. today at Brantly Baptist Church, 5007 Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville.

Mrs. Evitt, who was 86, died Friday of amyloidosis at the Lutherville home she shared with Rodney and Dorothy Hemphill.

She was born in South Carolina and graduated from Limestone College in Gaffney, S.C., in 1930. She taught at several schools in South Carolina before marrying William Evitt in 1946 and moving to Baltimore, where she occasionally was a substitute teacher in public schools.

Mrs. Evitt was a member of Brantly Baptist Church and often cooked for church functions.

Her husband died in 1953.

Mrs. Evitt is survived by two sisters, Jewell Mitchum of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Lorene Haselton of Marion, S.C.; and a brother, Homer Price of Marion.

The family suggested contributions be made to Brantly Baptist Church.
