* QUESTION: If the Israelis retaliate against Iraq, what countries will retaliate against Israel?

ANSWER: No countries have actually said they would retaliate against Israel. Jordan, which lies between Iraq and Israel, is an enemy of Israel. Jordan has said it will not allow its airspace to become a battleground between Iraq and Israel. Some people have worried that if Israel retaliates against Iraq, the United States-led coalition could fall apart because several of the Arab countries in the coalition, including Syria and Egypt, have opposed Israel in the past. So far all the coalition members say they will continue to participate in the allied force even if Israel retaliates against Iraq.
