Crownsville Gets Postmaster

Rita J. Fowler has appointed postmaster of Crownsville. She will manage mail operations for 12,000 postal customers.

Fowler began her career in 1975 as a clerk-posterrelief in Barley, W.Va., and later became a distribution-window clerk in Grundy, Va.

In 1977 she was selected as Equal Employment Opportunity counselor at the Charleston, W.Va., post office and then was promoted to EEO investigator at the Eastern Regional Office in Philadelphia.

In 1986, she became EEO counselor-investigator at the main post office in Baltimore.

Fowler has worked as officer in charge at the Berwind, W.Va.; Harman, Va.; and Grundy post offices.

She attended Goucher College and is married to Columbia Postmaster Al Fowler. They have a daughter, Robin, who is a postal clerk in Houston.
