Warren A. Grant, 54, was assistant principal at Western

Warren A. Grant, assistant principal of Western High School, died Friday at University of Maryland Medical Center after a long illness. He was 54 and lived on North Carey Street.

Services for Mr. Grant were being held today at Douglas Memorial Community Church, Lafayette and Madison avenues.

Before becoming assistant principal at Western eight years ago, he was assistant principal at Northwestern High School. He began his career in the Baltimore public schools in 1962 as a social studies teacher at what is now Lombard Middle School.

At Douglas Memorial, he was a member of the usher board.

A native of West Chester, Pa., and graduate of Lincoln University, Mr. Grant served in the Army before beginning his teaching career in Baltimore.

He is survived by his parents, Clinton B. and Alverta Grant of West Chester; a sister, Betty Marie Grant of West Chester; and a nephew, Clinton B. Grant 3rd of Baltimore.

The family suggested contributions to the Elevator and Organ Fund at Douglas Memorial Community Church.
