BALTIMORE — Stolen car is said to contain pacemakers
A 1990 Lincoln that was stolen in Baltimore Saturday night contained $250,000 worth of medical equipment for heart patients, a Pasadena man told city police.
Joseph T. Murphy of Bayside Drive in Pasadena said his auto was stolen from the 100 block of West Mount Royal Avenue about 10:30 p.m. Saturday while he was attending a theater performance.
Inside the car, he said, were implantable pacemakers that would be of no use to a car thief.
Police were searching for the vehicle last night.
Landover man killed in drug deal, police say
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY
A 20-year-old Landover man was shot and killed yesterday during a drug deal that turned violent, Prince George's County police said.
Lamont Jerome Jackson of the 3000 block of Brightseat Road was pronounced dead just before 11 a.m. yesterday at Prince George's Hospital Center.
He was shot an hour earlier in the 1100 block of Capital View Drive. Police said Mr. Jackson was selling drugs when a customer pulled out a revolver. Mr. Jackson, apparently thinking he was about to be robbed, began to run away from the gunman.
Police said the gunman fired once, hitting Mr. Jackson in the torso.
No arrest was reported, and the killing remained under investigation last night.
