Church Plans One-man Show On Hymn Writer

Steven Kimbrough, an internationally known baritone, will present a one-man musical, "Sweet Singer," at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at Bel Air United Methodist Church, South Main Street and Linwood Avenue, in Bel Air.

The musical, written by Kimbrough, portrays the life of Charles Wesley, an 18th-century English poet, clergyman and hymn writerwho authored the famous Christmas carol, "Hark! the Herald Angels Sing."

The musical tells the story of one man's search for faith and howhis journey affected Christianity. The audience will learn how Wesley's tribulations, joys, and spiritual struggles inspired his hymns, many of which are still sung today.

Admission to the concert is free. A free-will offering will be received. Free baby care also will be provided.
