Atlanta Braves -- Agreed to terms with free-agent OF Glenn Wilson (.245, 10 HRs, 55 RBI with Houston Astros) on 1-year, $500,000 contract.

California Angels -- Agreed to terms with OF Luis Polonia (.335, 2, 35) on 1-year, $770,000 contract, a $550,000 raise.

Los Angeles Dodgers -- P Tim Belcher (9-9, 4.00 ERA) lost his arbitration hearing and will earn $900,000 this season instead of the $1.35 million he requested. Belcher was paid $450,000 last season.

Philadelphia Phillies -- Signed 3B Dave Hollins, OF Tony Longmire and P Chuck Malone to 1-year contracts.

San Diego Padres -- Agreed to 4-year, $15.25 million contract with 1B Fred McGriff (.300, 35, 88 for Toronto Blue Jays). At $3,812,500 per season, the contract is the fifth-highest in baseball. McGriff made $1.45 million last season.

San Francisco Giants -- Signed IF Mike Benjamin, OF Rick Parker, IF Tony Perezchica and IF Andres Santana.

Seattle Mariners -- Invited C Bob Boone (.239, 0, 9 with Kansas City Royals) to spring training.

Basketball

Atlanta Hawks -- Announced G Rumeal Robinson (6.4 ppg) has a small tear in the lateral meniscus of his right knee, but should be able to return to action next week with a week of rehabilitation.

Miami Heat -- Announced G Jon Sundvold (4.7 ppg) has pneumonia and sinusitis and likely will sidelined for at least 2 weeks.

College

NCAA -- Announced South Carolina's athletic program is off probation.

Cal-Irvine -- Announced the resignation of Bill Mulligan (160-154 in 11 seasons), basketball coach, effective at the end of the season.

Seton Hall -- Announced G Marco Lokar has quit basketball team to return to Italy.

Southern Cal -- Hired former Pacific football coach Bob Cope as assistant.

Toledo -- Announced resignation of Nick Saban, football coach to become defensive coordinator for Cleveland Browns.

Tulsa -- Announced resignation of Dan Rocco, outside linebackers coach, to become defensive line coach at Boston College.

Football

New England Patriots -- Named Stan Jones (Maryland) defensive-line coach.

San Francisco 49ers -- Extended the contract of coach George Seifert 2 years through the 1993 season. Named Carmen Policy president.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- Named Floyd Peters, former defensive coordinator of Minnesota Vikings, defensive coordinator and defensive line coach.

Arena Football -- Announced the addition of franchises in Orlando, Fla.; Columbus, Ohio; and Chicago. Announced the Pittsburgh Gladiators have relocated to Tampa, Fla.
