Leslie M. Pittler is appointed head of the Maryland Housing Fund for the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development. He was most recently the director of Baltimore County's Department of Community Development.
Carolynne R. Shumate resumes real estate sales at O'Conor, Piper & Flynn, and joins the Greenspring sales office. She was previously a branch sales manager, regional manager and training director for Merrill Lynch Realty, which is now Prudential Preferred Properties.
Postal service: Richard W. Rudez is named the new Baltimore Division general manager/postmaster for the United States Postal Service. He began his postal career in 1971 as an industrial engineer trainee in Washington. He most recently worked as Management Sectional Center manager/postmaster, Bakersfield, Calif.
In his new position, he will manage mail processing and delivery operations for most of Maryland and for Delaware. Sharon F. Nevins is promoted to vice president for account services at Maleson Advertising Inc. She will be responsible for the management and coordination of all agency accounts, new business development and serving on the agency's management committee. She joined Maleson in 1987, and most recently worked as senior account manager.
At W.B. Doner & Co., Walt Hampton Jr., John Parlato and Sande Riesett are named senior vice president, creative directors for the agency.
Hampton was previously creative director for Chiat/Day/Mojo in Atlanta. Parlato joined Doner in 1979 as a junior copywriter and most recently worked as associate creative director, a position he held for three years.
Riesett joined the agency in 1986 as a group supervisor from Abramson and Associates in Washington. She most recently worked as vice president of Doner. Mark K. Hilton is named manager in health-care services for Clifton, Gunderson & Co., Certified Public Accountants & Consultants. He will be responsible for Medicare and Medicaid services for hospitals, residential treatment centers and intermediate care centers as well as consulting to health-care providers. He was previously with Blue Cross and Blue Shield as a Medicare audit supervisor.
Barbara G. Wallace and Stephanie P. Ridenour are promoted to in-charge accountants in health care for the firm.

He is a partner of the firm. Susan Heneson Kornblatt joins the Quality Inn Towson as sales manager. She will be responsible for developing new business for overnight accommodations in the corporate, government and tour and travel markets. Alan V. Shackelford is named survey field coordinator for Riemer Muegge & Associates Inc. He has 23 years of experience in all types of surveying and will be responsible for the management of the company's field survey staff.

The Guild day school program provides therapeutic education for seriously emotionally disturbed children between the ages of 3 and 12. It serves students in Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Howard County.
