Baltimore City

SHOOTING: Southwestern District -- Police reported that Michael Garrett, 22, of the 900 block of N. Franklintown Road, was walking near his home early yesterday when he was shot in the back. Police said Garrett was taken to University of Maryland Medical Center, where he was treated. He was listed today in fair condition. Police had no motive for the shooting.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 300 block of S. Augusta Ave. reported that someone broke into her home through a kitchen window and stole property valued at $600.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Michael Harris, of the 1700 block of E. Federal St., reported he was in the 1200 block of N. Charles St. early yesterday when he was attacked by a man armed with a knife who forced him to give up his money. Police said the armed man fled the scene with more than $60.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Police reported that Sherman Lee Berry, an out-of-town resident, was in the 300 block of St. Paul St. shortly before 4 a.m. yesterday when a man wearing a blue ski mask approached him from behind and placed a metal object in his back. Berry told police the man then demanded his money and that he gave up $25.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Richard Swinimer, of the 2300 block of Maryland Ave., reported he was robbed of more than $100 by a man armed with a gun who accosted him as he walked in the 2400 block of St. Paul St. early yesterday evening.

ASSAULT: Central District -- Leroy Keltner, of the 1000 block of N. Charles St., reported he was home Sunday evening when two men broke into his apartment and attacked him. Police said one of the men was wearing a pair of brass knuckles and that Keltner sustained numerous injuries. Police said Keltner was taken to a hospital and that a motive for the attack was not immediately known.

STABBING: Central District -- Joseph Williams, of the 1300 block of Argyle Ave., reported he was in the 1500 block of Argyle Ave. early yesterday when he was attacked by a man who stabbed him in the back with a butcher knife. Police said Williams was taken to a hospital and that a suspect in the case was arrested. Police said Williams knew the suspect, who was being held at the station pending formal charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

CUTTING: Central District -- Jack Brewington, of the 1100 block of Argyle Ave., reported to police that during an incident near his home yesterday evening, he was attacked by a man armed with a knife who cut him on the right side of the head. Police said Brewington was treated at a hospital and released and that a man known to him was arrested in connection with the armed assault. Police said the man was being held pending charges and an appearance before a District Court commissioner.

BURGLARY: Central District -- A resident of the 1300 block of Myrtle Ave., reported that someone broke into his home after climbing a fire escape and entering through a third-floor window. Once inside, the intruder stole property valued at more than $3,000 and escaped.

THEFT: Central District -- Ronald Olasak, of the 200 block E. Mount Royal Ave., reported he was at Harborplace Sunday when someone stole his mountain bike after he left it parked near the Light Street pavilion. Olasak told police the bike, which was locked, was valued at $400.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that property valued at more than $300 was stolen from a dwelling in the 4200 block of Westview Road after an intruder entered by opening the front door.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that a 15-year-old resident of the 4300 block of Roberton Ave. was in the 4800 block of Bowleys Lane yesterday while walking home from school when she was accosted by another female who demanded she give up her property. Police said the other girl took property valued at nearly $150 from the victim and fled..

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police were seeking the person who entered an apartment in the 1500 block of E. Northern Parkway and stole a microwave oven from the kitchen. Police said the property was valued at $400 and that entry appeared to have been with a key.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Eric Funderburk, of the 1900 block of E. 29th St., reported he was in the 2800 block of Harford Road yesterday when he was accosted by a man armed with an unknown caliber handgun who demanded he give up his money. Police said the gunman fled with more than $200 in cash. Later, police identified the gunman and were seeking a 22-year-old resident of the 1900 block of E. 30th St. in connection with the robbery.

ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Stephanie Young, of the 1800 block of Maulsby Court in Hollander Ridge, reported that during an incident at her home, she was attacked by a 27-year-old man who bit her. Police said she knows the man. Later, police arrested a man and were holding him at the Eastern District pending charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.
