LAUREL -- It was a good news/bad news kind of day for jockey Joe Rocco at Laurel Race Course yesterday.

First, the bad news. Rocco was suspended seven days by the stewards for his ride on Whole Nine Yards in the second race Friday. He starts serving the penalty today.

Now the good news: Rocco won with the first four of his five mounts yesterday. Including a victory on his final mount Friday, Rocco had a five-race winning streak, which was ended by a loss on Shenandoah Pride in the 12th race.

been telling everybody it's a good way to start a vacation," said Rocco, 31, the third-leading rider at the meeting. "I'm taking my wife and children to Florida."
