Polimericks

February 06, 1991|By George Neff Lucas

With all we can buy of high tech

We're reducing Iraq to a wreck;

But returning to Earth

Could minimize mirth

By proving that war is still heck.

Suppress is replacing the press;

Desert Storm is a smashing success;

The briefers keep dinning:

We're winning! We're winning!

If you want more details, take a guess.

This time we're abnormally late

In discerning a Dem candidate;

It's depressing to note

That our '92 vote

Depends on Saddam and his fate.

A.M. Frank, most appropriately

Is the name of the Postmaster G.;

So why will stamps hence

Cost us twenty-nine cents

When Franked mail's supposed

to be free?
