Is Schaefer being rude or fair?

It's your call

February 06, 1991

Recently, Gov. William Donald Schaefer used a profane remark to describe the quality of life on the Eastern Shore. He also has written strong and personally insulting letters to private citizens who have expressed disagreement with his policies.

Some believe that the governor is just plain rude. Others believe he has the right to freely express his opinion to those who might disagree with him.

What about you?

Is the governor rude or just giving critics what they deserve?

To register your opinion, call SUNDIAL, the Baltimore Sun's free directory of telephone information services at 783-1800 (or jTC 268-7736 in Anne Arundel County) today until midnight.

After you hear the greeting, you'll be asked to punch in a four-digit code on your Touch-Tone phone. Punch 4600 and you'll be connected with "It's Your Call," The Evening Sun's survey on topical issues.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.

Look for results in Thursday's Evening Sun.
