LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. -- Devin Boyd scored 23 points and East Coast Conference-leading Towson State (13-6, 8-0) overcame a 13-point, first-half deficit to win its eighth straight game, an 82-65 conquest of Rider College (8-12, 2-4) yesterday afternoon.
The Tigers fell behind 9-0 and trailed 23-10 after 7 minutes, 25 seconds. From there, Chuck Lightening scored eight in a 16-0 burst. A three-point goal by Rider's Darrick Suber forged a halftime tie at 45.
In the second half, Towson State senior Lewis Waller scored 11 of his 15 and the visitors checked the Broncs on 22 percent shooting from the floor (4-for-18).
